NEW HARMONY
Although the utopian visions of George Rapp and Robert Owen didn't hold out, the quaint town they built remains a tourist attraction and home to several fine dining, hospitality venues, farmers markets, and artisans shops.  New Harmony is just 13 miles from Mt. Vernon.
Harmonie State Park

Harmonie State Park is located "on the banks of the Wabash" 10 miles north of Mt. Vernon. It has shady picnic areas, ravines and pristine landscape await you there. This is a trail lover's paradise. Trails for walking, biking and nature hikes will lure you for a visit.

RIVER DAYS

Each fall on the 2nd Weekend of September, Mt. Vernon celebrates its 200+ year heritage as a hub for culture and economy in Southern Indiana.  There are pageants, parades, music, entertainment, artisan booths, and of course the midwestern necessity: FOOD!

RIVER ACCESS AND BOAT RAMP
Mt. Vernon provides a scenic Ohio River waterfront with launching ramp and courtesy dock providing access to boating and water sports.
